The weather was simply awful. Both teams would have been very happy if the match was postponed because of the conditions but no alternative dates were available. So they had to play, like it or not.

Colin Wilton was well beaten in the top game and he got no points.

Barry Tumelty fought like a tiger to get a half match and 2 points.

Paul Magennis won the first nine but lost his match. Paul got one point.

Paul McAleavey was the star of the Banbridge team. He got all 4 points.

Rory Madeley managed to get half a point. Callum Barnes did likewise. It was another half a point.

Rory McMullan played brilliantly in the very tough conditions but unfortunately drew a blank.

Josh Crory boosted the Banbridge total by getting a courageous half match.

The score, at the halfway stage, is Warrenpoint 22, Banbridge 10. The second leg will be played at Banbridge this coming Friday. It is not over, by any means. Warrenpoint need to get ten and a half points to win. They might find that difficult enough.

Why not come down to watch? A bit of support could well help.
