Last weekend saw the inaugural Boat Anglers Cup competition on Corbet Lough.
There was a great turn out of anglers on both nights of the competition, held on Friday 24th and Saturday 25th June.
It would be fair to say that all anglers had to work hard for the fish that were caught.
These creatures have become very cunning and are very fussy in what they are taking.
Both nights were equally as difficult, and all anglers involved could not have fished any harder than they did.
Boat Anglers Cup:
1st Adrian McAnarney 10 fish; 2nd Freedy Steele 7 fish time of third fish 20.24; 3rd Rodger McClements 7 fish time of third fish 20.35.
A hard fished competition. Well done, and a big thank you to all who took part.
There was another great turn out of juniors on Saturday 18th June.
Conditions were quite good for the competition. Young Daniel Moore got off to the perfect start by landing the first fish.
Daniel went on to catch his bag of three fish.
It didn’t take long for young Adam Morrow catching a fish, Adam also caught his bag of three fish.
Adam is having an excellent competition year, he is also in joint first place in the juvenile section along side Patrick Curran.
It could be a very interesting second half to the juvenile competition programme.
Calab McIlwrath had another great day by catching another fish, that’s two in two competitions. Well done Calab.
1st A. Morrow 0.778Kilos; 2nd D. Moore 0.678Kilos; 3rd C. McIlwrath 0.468Kilos.
Well done to all the children who turned out to the competition. Looking forward to seeing you all at other competitions.
