The Thursday Open Stableford has become a very popular competition over recent years.
The first one of this season was played last week.
The winner was Philip Mallon (10) who went round in 74 gross, which gave him a score of 41 points.
Philip’s good friend, Colin McKinney (19), was runner-up with 34 points.
Colin started with two 7’s, not exactly what he had planned.
Some golfers would have given up, but not Colin.
He settled down to play really well and deserved to take the runners-up prize.
This competition is ideal for those who cannot play on Saturdays and it is hoped that it will attract several visitors.
Let your golfing friends know about it.
