Sharon Allen was top of the pile at the recent Centenary Cup at Banbridge Golf club.
She secured victory by one single shot and did it with the best score recorded in ladies competitions at Banbridge so far this season.
That was a nett 65 - a truly fantastic score in the Banbridge Pro Shop sponsored competition.
The gross prize was taken by Fionnuala Crossey. Section A winner was Valerie Malcolmson, Section B winner was Ann Blevins and Section C winner, also with a fantastic score of nett 66 was Robena McCandless.
Over the previous couple of weeks, the twos competition rolled over, and that meant Janice Thompson secured the lucrative prize by bagging a two on this occasion.
Tuesday 23rd June
The Ladies played in a fourball better ball competition. Good scores were expected and the players delivered.
The runners up were Jacinta Rooney and Suzanne Murfitt with 39 points.The winners with a fantastic score of 41 points were Helen Cocks and Sheelagh English.
Tuesday 30th June
The Nellie Garrett Foursomes is a very popular event in the Ladies Fixture List due to the very generous sponsorship of Mrs Georgie Duke.
The competition was stiff and finishing in second place was the very talented pair, Fionnuala Crossey and Denise McBrien with 38 points.
They were pipped on count back by the new pairing of Ann Crommie and Marelene Nelson. We wish them all the best when they play at Knock in the District Final.
The Challenge Cup team, captained by Denise Nelson progressed to the quarter finals of the competition.
The Minor Cup, captained by Lorna McKInstry were narrowly beaten by very strong Dufanaghy team.
The Junior Cup have it all to do when they face Armagh in the return leg. They only got half a point away but on the day they could do it. We will have to wait until the 19th to see if they can make it through.
The Cowdy Cup team, captained by Densie McBrien, held their nerve against Edenmore, Karen Curran brought in the winning point.
