Another mild April evening welcomed the 245 young athletes who turned out at the Mary Peter’s Track to take part in the second meet of the largest youth athletics series in Northern Ireland, the firmus energy Super Six.
A variety of track and field activities were on offer and broken down into several age range categories, with athletes from across the province converging to compete in the shot put, hammer, long jump, javelin, high jump and the 80/100m sprint as well as 100m and 200m wheelchair events.
Among the winners in Meet 2 are local athletes Kate McCartan who came second in the Mini Girls 150 metres; Josh Millar and Ethan Dunn who came first and third respectively in the Under 17 Boys 400 metres. They are all from Dromore Athletic Club.
Organised by Lagan Valley Athletics Club, the next meet will take place on Thursday 28 May at the Mary Peters Track in Belfast
