Rebekah sets new PB at the Odyssey
REBEKAH Nixon had a great day at the NI & Ulster Championships on Saturday, which were held at the Odyssey Arena.
She secured victory in the U15 800m in a new PB time of 2.27:67.
In what was a very competitive closely fought race with guest athletes from as far away as Sligo competing, Rebekah tactically stuck on the shoulder of the two leading athletes and with 100m to go gave her characteristic burst of speed to claim first place and the title.
This adds to the two outdoor 800m Champion titles for club and school which Rebekah currently holds at NI & Ulster level.
Rebekah also took silver in the shot putt for the second year in succession again with a PB putt of 7m 85cm to round off a happy day’s work.
