Partnership helping keep sport safe for children

A NUMBER of places are still available for the Safeguarding Children and Young People’s Course taking place in the Old Town Hall, Banbridge on Wednesday, 6 February, from 6.30–9.30pm.

Organised by the Southern Sports Partnership, the three hour workshop aims to raise awareness of Child Protection issues in sport and introduces participants to the Code of Ethics and Good Practice for Children’s Sport.

The course, which costs £15, is important for all adults involved in children’s sport, but it is particularly recommended for coaches, leaders, administrators and officials.

A copy of the application form along with the Coach Education & Club Development Brochure 2012/2013, which details all courses, is available from the Banbridge District Council website at www.banbridge.gov.uk or can be requested from the council’s Leisure and Development Department on T: 028 4066 0605.

Completed application forms for the Safeguarding Children and Young People’s course along with the course fee should be returned to Gillian Dewart, Banbridge District Council, Civic Building, Downshire Road, Banbridge, BT32 3JU. Cheques should be made payable to Banbridge District Council.
