BANBRIDGE Rangers are the latest club to take part in the McDonalds Club Accreditation Scheme with IFA Grassroots Officer, Keith Gibson

The aim of the scheme is to support the development and recognition of clubs that are working towards good practice policies and procedures.

The Club Accreditation Scheme provides a clear and structured approach to improving and developing your club; provides your club with coach bursaries, coach mentoring and club development; provides your club with free footballs and cones; demonstrates to partners, parents and young people that your club is child friendly and safe; and provides a benchmark for club quality

This Club Accreditation is a quality accreditation scheme for clubs within the McDonald’s Small-Sided Games Development Centres. It is built around a set of core criteria which ensure that accredited clubs operate to a set of consistent, accepted and adopted minimum operating standards.

Keith commented, “It is great to see local clubs wanting to put the policies and procedures in place to ensure the safe development of our young footballers.

“Banbridge Rangers have only started their junior section within the last two years and already have over 70 boys and girls coming along every week.

“The club has made great strides in a very short period of time and after Christmas will have teams in every age group of the Games Development Centre.”

Mark Wilson, U10 coach said, “We are delighted to be part of this scheme, moving towards accreditation as well as investing in our coaches through the coach mentoring scheme and Level 1 coaching awards.”
