Reserves lose cagey encounter

THE fact that a single goal was scored in 90 minutes reflected a closely fought and cagey encounter between these two reserves sides.

The game was goalless at the half time interval, with home side Moneyslane Reserves denied a goal by an excellent diving save from Scarva goalkeeper Stephen Craig.

Moneyslane carried the greater attacking threat after the break but Scarva’s reserve side was defensively resilient.

Stalemate looked the most likely outcome but with 15 minutes to go Moneyslane’s reserve outfit struck the opening and only goal of the match.

This was a much improved performance from Scarva Rangers Reserves, who lacked nothing in terms of effort and hard work.

Best for Scarva Rangers Reserves – Stephen Craig, Alan Hammond and Dawson Jones.
