U9s pick up two more wins

BANBRIDGE Town U9s travelled to the Development Centre in Portadown for two more fixtures,

Against Portadown the game commenced with both sides trying to get the ball down and play good football. Portadown twice made Toby Jones pull off two fantastic saves while at the other end Taylor Hill and Joshua Noble made the Portadown `keeper work.

Alex Innocenzi and Bobby Jones were superb in defence but the deadlock was broken on the 15 minute mark when Portadown broke away to score with a low shot. Tom King. Josh Kerr, Innocenzi and Harry Annett all brought saves from the Portadown goalkeeper but in the closing stages Portadown scored a second to make the scoreline 2 - 0.

In the Craigavon City game Banbridge had a strong performance in a tight game eventually winning 1-0.

Again Toby Jones was superb in goals for Town pulling off three super saves while Joshua Noble and a good run and left foot shot saved.

The industrious Josh Kerr and hardworking Taylor Hill were strong in defence while Tom King went close witha great turn and shot. The deadlock was broken when Harry Annett shot into the roof of the net to give Town a 1-0 lead while at the other end Bobby Jones made at least two brilliant last ditch tackles in the dying stages. Alex Innocenzi also went close with a blocked shot but in the end the game finished 1 - 0 to Banbridge.

Overall another good day at Brownstown with the boys looking forward to two more fixtures next week.
