WIN FOR U14S

Dromore Ladies U14 2 Portadown Ladies U14 1

DROMORE Ladies U14s travelled to Portadown to face the hosts at Edenvilla last Sunday.

The locals lined up in buoyant mood having seen the 'B' squad record a win over Armagh in the earlier game.

The opening exchanges were tightly fought through the midfield with Robyn McKee showing superb skills and vision to evade her two markers on several occasions.

Midfielder McKee was instrumental in Dromore's opening goal, releasing Hanna Russell for a one on one with the home keeper, the young forward remaining calm and slotting home from close range.

Dromore then went to sleep, allowing Portadown back into the game with large amounts of possession and pressure.

Portadown equalised just after the interval, Dromore failed to clear a loose ball in their circle allowing an opposition forward to pounce.

The remainder of the second half saw a more resilient and inspired Dromore side dominate, Chelsey Whan distributing beautifully from the back, while Hannah Lilburn's energy was titanic.

The winning goal came courtesy of a Robyn McKee tap in, Cathy Wilson's initial shot was saved and the rebound fell to a cool and calm McKee.

Portadown briefly rallied toward the end of the game, but a superb leading performance from the back three of Whan, Morton and Leathem kept the opposition at bay, assisted by keeper Danielle Hopkins.

Dame of the Game was awarded to Robyn McKee for a great workmanlike performance in midfield.
