Zach sees off Camlough opponent

Zach Crossan

Zach Crossan

FIFTEEN-year-old Zach Crossett is the latest Gilford ABC boxer to shine for the village club this season with a first class display of clever boxing, perfectly tailored for the computer scoring.

Zach Crossett was unfazed entering the lion’s den to take on Jamie McCartney (Camlough) at the Carrickcruppen GFC in Camlough.

Crossett’s start to the contest was razor sharp, snapping out piston like jab’s to open up McCartney and following up with fast two fist combinations to take the first round on a scoreline of 4-0.

Zach was boxing with great authority in the second, scoring blows and stepping out of range. A lovely timed right hand from the Gilford boxer dropped McCartney to further his lead.

The third and final round and Crossett was really enjoying the bout, continuing to build up his points lead, doubling up with hooks to the body and head, and using good head movement to making it difficult for the Camlough boxer to land scoring blows. Zach was superior in every department with impressive footwork and hand speed to win on a point’s score 11-1.
