On June 13 the group will celebrate its 21st birthday at a 7pm event in the village’s Lagan Park Centre.

Supported by ‘The Royal Celebration Grant’, the gathering is expected to include Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council representatives, among them the Mayor and Deputy Mayor.

A spokesperson said: “A buffet supper will be laid on, together with a birthday cake; there will be a talk on ‘Dromara Memories ‘ by Mr Donald Patterson and, weather permitting, a beacon will be lit to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday.

“We will welcome present and former members of our group, together with anyone who has helped us over the past 21 years in keeping our group going from strength to strength.

“Anyone wishing to attend the celebration should telephone 028 9753 2331 to help us with catering arrangements.”
