Places available on historical society's summer outing

There are still a few seats available on the bus for Banbridge Historical Society's summer outing which takes place on Thursday June 2.

The coach for the outing will leave from the road alongside Banbridge Leisure Centre, promptly at 9.30am. Cars can be left in the Centre’s car park all day.

The coach will travel to Lissan House, where coffee, tea and scones will be served in the ballroom, followed by a tour of the house and garden, weather permitting.

The coach will then travel to Cookstown where participants will be able to spend one and a half hours before rejoining the coach for the short drive to Killymoon Castle, the home and working farm of the Coulter family.

There will be a three course evening meal served in Killymoon Golf Club at 5.15pm consisting of a choice of chicken, leek and bacon bake, or honey roast gammon, or salmon along with vegetables, potatoes and chips followed by a selection of desserts then tea or coffee.

The Historical Society expect to be back in Banbridge at 7.30pm. Price for the outing is £30, which includes the hire of the bus, tour guides, coffee or tea and scones in Lissan House as well as the three course meal in Killymoon Golf Club.
