Upper Bann MP David Simpson has sent a Christmas message to the district:
“For many of us, Christmas is a time to re-unite with family and friends and remind ourselves of the year that has gone before us.
“This year has brought changes for many households as well as many changes within the political scene. Some of us have lost loved ones whilst many will have welcomed new additions to our household. In September we lost a friend of Ulster and servant of the Lord, Dr Ian Paisley. We are entirely indebted to his service to public life and our thoughts and prayers are with his family this Christmas.
“Locally, I was delighted that our party returned 13 members to the new ABC Super-Council with many new faces taking to the platform.
“Looking ahead to 2015, I have no doubt that our households will face many trials and difficulties but I trust and pray that we will face these difficulties with the determination to make this year peaceful and prosperous for us all.
“Can I take this opportunity to thank you all for the support. As we once again celebrate the birth of our Lord and Saviour, can I wish you and your families a Happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year.”
