A 34-year- old man has been charged at Banbridge Magistrates Court with a number of offences ranging from theft to motoring to public order offences.

Steven Ronald Bordessa, of Derryhale Lane, Portadown, appeared in the dock last Thursday at the local court.

He is charged with three thefts involving bottles of Buckfast, sausages and Lynx onJune 28 and June 30 from Supervalu in Banbridge.

Bordessa is also accused of driving without having insurance, a licence or a vehicle test certificate on two occasions – June 30, at Banbridge Road, Dromore and June 10 at Ballygowan Road, Banbridge.

He is charged with failing to produce his insurance, licence and test certificate onJune 17 at Ballygowan Road.

A police officer told the court that he believed he could connect the defendant withthe charges.

Bordessa faces further charges of assaulting a constable on July 25 at Primrose Gardens, Banbridge, resisting a constable, disorderly behaviour, failing to provide aspecimen of breath, not having insurance, criminal damage to a police car and driving with excess alcohol in his breath.

The defendant is also accused of driving with excess alcohol in his breath on June 22 atLoughbrickland Road, Banbridge, and not having insurance.

All matters were adjourned until August 25.
