Laurencetown driver is banned for no insurance

A 20-year-old man was banned from the roads for three months last Thursday at Banbridge Magistrates Court for driving without insurance on November 26 last year.

Ryan Potts, Millar Park, Laurencetown, was also fined £200 and ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy.

As well he was fined £75 for not having a vehicle test certificate.

The court heard he was stopped at 4.45pm while driving on the Drumnascamph Road, Laurencetown.

It transpired he did not have insurance or a vehicle test certificate.

A solicitor representing Potts said he could not give any explanation why he was driving without insurance and a test certificate.

He explained that his client had been banned until October this year and had not contacted Coleraine to get his licence back.
