A local man has been charged with a series of offences following an incident in Maghaberry Prison.
Lawrence Creaney, 27, from Edenderry Park in Banbridge has been charged with eight counts of common assault and two charges of criminal damage.
Lisburn Magistrates Court heard that on January 16, 2014, the defendant was involved in an incident at Maghaberry Prison.
He was charged with assaulting eight different people during the incident.
He was further charged with damaging shirt and tie belonging to one of the victims, as well as overalls and a shirt belonging to the Prison Service.
Defence asked for the case to be adjourned whilst the Prosecution Service considered whether to accept restitution on the charges of criminal damage.
District Judge Des Perry adjourned the case until March 27, to allow the PPS to consider the charges before the court.
