Upper Bann MLA Mrs Carla Lockhart has congratulated all of the organisers of a fun evening, which was held recently at Donaghcloney Cricket Club.

The event, which was attended by the Upper Bann MLA and her party colleagues, deputy Lord Mayor Paul Greenfield and Councillor Mark Baxter, drew a large crowd from the area.

There was plenty of activity for people of all ages and the elected representatives had the dubious privilege of meeting and holding a seven stone yellow snake.

The event was financially backed by well known store Lidl.

Commenting after the event Mrs Lockhart said: “This was a great event and I want to congratulate those who organised it from the Cricket Club.

“The club is a real community magnet within the village and it was good to see so many local people in attendance.

“The snake was a new experience for me and the handler made me slightly nervous when he told me it could crush me. I had to give it a go though.

“Well done to the ladies of the village who had a cake and craft sale which was well supported.

“I also want to say a big thank you to Lidl who assist with these community events and support them.”
