Amended plans for a new car park at Hillsborough Castle have been given the green light by the council’s planning department.
Historical Royal Palaces application contained amendments to the location of the associated vehicular access from the A1 carriageway and resulting internal layout at Land at Hillsborough Castle.
Planners at Monday afternoon’s committee approved the application
Local MLA Edwin Poots told the Ulster Star that he welcomed this decision.
“This is a fairly significant application for the Hillsborough area.
“This will help the Historical Royal Palaces in delivering the 250,000 visitors a year the castle receives and help to bring more visitors to the district,” he stated.
