Bannside Presbyterian Church’s weekend event in aid of Uganda’s New Life Choir has been hailed a success.
MLA Carla Lockhart was moang those to congratulate the organisers of what she called “a superb coffee morning” in Banbridge Old Town Hall.
The DUP politician attended the event on Saturday morning (June 4) along with Banbridge DUP Councillor Paul Greenfield.
“This was for a great cause and it was a privilege to be able to contribute in some small way to those less fortunate than us,” said Carla. “This organisation gives the children a much better quality of life but also allows them to continue their schooling and see other parts of the world.
“I have no doubt the excitement will be building for the children ahead of their tour in February. The 26 chosen children are from all over Uganda and I look forward to hearing them when they visit the UK next year.”
