Constable Gareth Hall, who thanked the public said: “Almost half a kilo of suspected cocaine has been seized. This substance was found in an area which is easily accessible to the public and it does not bear thinking about what may have happened if children had stumbled across this.

“The people responsible for this have no consideration for the local community or the potential consequences of their actions.

“This seizure shows just how successful we can be with community support. We continually ask the public to report suspicious activity at the earliest opportunity and this is the result - we have prevented drugs being circulated in the community. Thank you for your help!”

Anyone with information can can ring police on 101.
