Councillor Glenn Barr has reassured residents that there will be no disruption to public services as Banbridge Civic Building is set to close for an eight month renovation.
The council said the building will close from Friday, July 1, with a March 2017 date anticipated for re-opening.
Building Control, Environmental Services, Community Planning, Finance and Human Resources will be relocated to The Old Technical School, Downshire Road, while Registration of Births, Deaths, Marriages and Civil Partnerships, Health and Recreation, Arts and Events, Regeneration, Community Services and Economic Development will be relocated to Bridgewater House, Castlewellan Road.
All direct telephone numbers and email addresses will remain the same and departments can still be contacted via the central telephone number 0300 0300 900.
Councillor Barr said: “This work will ensure the building remains in use as a key Council office facility, which will serve the local community for future years and remain fit for purpose and energy efficient.
“During this time all existing Council services currently based in the Civic Building will continue to operate within the Banbridge area.
“It is anticipated that there will be no disruption to public services during this time.”
