Resurfacing work under way
Lagan Valley MLA Brenda Hale has welcomed the start of road resurfacing work at Carnreagh Avenue and Granville Drive in Hillsborough.
Mrs Hale, who has been lobbying TransportNI on the issue since May 2015, said the poor condition of the road surfaces in the area was one of the key issues raised by local residents at a site meeting in February this year.
“I am pleased that after much lobbying by myself and local residents that the resurfacing works have commenced in these local developments and that there are also plans to resurface an 853 metre section of the main road in the current 2016/17 financial year,” she said.
“I will continue to lobby the Department for Infrastructure to carry out necessary works on the Carnreagh Road and to address continuing complaints over parking on Ballynahinch Street.”
