If you have always wanted to get into running but just didn’t know how, then look no further than the Couch to 5k starting in a variety of venues across the Borough next week!
Pull on your trainers and join a group of like-minded people all aiming towards the same goal – gradually working up to running 5k or for half an hour in just nine weeks.
Organised by Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council, an experienced coach will lead each session and support you through the journey which involves a combination of walking and running.
Regular running can help reduce the risk of chronic illnesses such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes and having a stroke, boost your mood and keep your weight under control – so why not give it a go?
Sessions will take place as below:
The Mall, Armagh – every Monday and Wednesday from 6.30pm-7pm starting on Monday 25th July.
Solitude Park, Banbridge – every Monday and Wednesday from 6.30pm-7pm starting on Monday 25th July.
Portadown People’s Park – every Tuesday and Thursday from 6.30pm-7pm starting on Tuesday 26th July.

Couch to 5K: tip for new runners - If you haven’t exercised for a while, chances are you may not have any suitable clothing. Don’t let this be an excuse – once you have the outfit sorted, you’re far more likely to feel motivated to get out there and use it.
