As many as 14 riders braved the weather last week for the club’s Castlewellan Road 10 mile TT.
“I’m delighted with the attitude of our riders who really want to improve,” said the club’s Race Secretary Clive Adamson.
“Karl surprised us when he rode to Portrush for training then Matt, Andy and Dave bettering that in club run, doing 70 to 100 miles.
That’s what I love to see and it will have a positive response in the club.
“Also Geoff is clocking up the miles and we should see him make his first start this year soon.
“But for me now its the form of Mark, down to his lightest he has ever been, and riding superbly in club races.
“I’ve been at Mark for a few years now to get the weight off and boy has it worke.
“Now my attention is for Karl to do the same and show us what he can do. Thebiggest surprise in his first year racing is D.Friz who looks an excellent prospect.
“It’s going to be an exciting second half of the season and I’m really looking forward to it.
“On Wednesday night, Allister rode really well in TVRs Aussie /Pursuit and showed he is getting back to form.
“Then on Thursday night Muscles, J,K, Matt, and Dorathy rode in another club Road Race with J.K just pipped into second place after riding very well with Matt just behind him,and Muscles riding superbly in scratch.
“Well done to them all, especially Dorothy, who is never afraid to take on any race or any course.
“This week’s race is another round of our road race series. Riders to watch out for are J.Kernaghan and M.Alexander both hitting form now. Then next week’s race is a 10 mile TT.”
