Dromore Vets headed to the Sixes Blitz where they had five matches in seven a side Vets games.

First up, they met Portadown’s first team first and lost 3-0.

The ladies were just finding their feet and they were quite quickly identified as the team to beat - very organised and strong!

They then met Derg Valley and lost again but by a closer margin.

Their third game was against Portadown’s second team. They were held to a 3-3 draw but the Dromore girls were left feeling they really should have won.

Then met Omagh and beat them 4.3 in a close and enthralling encounter. They were deserving winners in the end after a good battle.

Finally, the girls came up against Banbridge in a local derby.

It was the Bann girls who took the early advantage but Dromore weren’t finished, not by a long stretch.

They rallied back into the game and followed up their equaliser with two more strikes to take a 3-1 victory.

On the day, Catie Pepper scored nine goals, and Nicky Wilson was on target too..

There were a number of other near calls, but just round the posts!

Dromore Under 11s had a great day at the Ulster Finals, making it to the quarter-finals.

The began well, taking first opponents Cookstown to a 5 – 0 defeat and lifting the team for their other games

They went on to meet Grosvenor, South Antrim , Ballynahinch and Randlestown which they held to draws in each game.

This put them second in their group and through to the quarter finals. They met familiar rivals Portadown who took the win 1 -0 but it was the strong Pegasus their run with a 3 – 0 win against Dromore.

The girls played well but their quarter final opponents Pegasus went on to the semi finals which they won against Mossley.

It was a fabulous day’s hockey and thank-you to all the parents who supported on a very fresh day and to coach Colin for all his expertise and support throughout the season.

Good luck to the Under 13s next week on their finals day.
