Dromore played host to Pembroke Wanderers who were on tour with a busy schedule over the weekend and also played neighbouring local teams Lurgan and Banbridge.

On Saturday Pemboke’s Under 15 team arrived sporting their purple and yellow kit to face Dromore.

The match was fast with alot of strong hockey and great passing as both teams proved they had plenty of speed.

It would be fair to say Dromore had the majority of the attacking play but despite many attacks in the circle they were held off by a strong Pembroke defence who kept all attempts out.

Pembroke though had a very clear run and were determined to make it count and took 1 -0 lead which they held to defeat Dromore.

On Sunday the Pembroke Under 14 team faced Dromore’s Under 14 in a match which was much more evenly balanced.

Pembroke were very fast off the ball and the speed made for a fast and furious match.

Early on both teams played scored to have a 1 -1 draw and them Pembroke took a second to take the lead.

The lead was not to be the end though as Dromore’s Thea Wilson took possession and had a lovely run up the wing and in to score to finish the game 2 -2.

Thank you to the umpires and many parents who supported and to Deidre and Pembroke Wanderers for joining us at Ferris.

It was great to play a new team and hopefully the clubs will meet again in the future.
