Dromore Ladies maintained their position as joint leaders of the Championship with a 4-0 victory away to St Matthews Ladies at St Aquinas school on the Ravenhill Road in Belfast.
Great pressure from Dromore forward Rachel Davis forced a home defender to play the ball back to her goalkeeper who lifted the ball only for the ref to blow for an indirect free kick inside the six year box.
Captain Orr and leading scorer Kerry Taggart stood over the ball, a quick touch from Taggart and Orr rifled the ball past the goal keeper and the onrushing defence to put the visitors one up.
The away defence of Smith Nugent Martin and Brady carried on where they left off from last week’s heroics against Lisburn by shackling St Matt’s forward Rachel Rogan, an extremely talented forward who on her day can be a match winner.
A fantastic ball by Orr then cut through the St Matts defence to Douglas who beat the offside trap and crossed in for Taggart to sweep into the net.
With only 15 minutes on the clock though, things took a devastating blow. Sorcha Nugent was forced off as her ankle took a heavy knock after another fantastic tackle, with no other fit subs Dromore had to re-shuffle and play the remainder of the game with 10 players.
With 25 minutes on the clock, Douglas again broke free and as she was about to pull the trigger in the box she was pulled down for a certain penalty which was awarded.
Captain Orr stepped up and blasted the ball high into the net to make the score 3-0.
With a few minutes on the clock to go Hughes made amends as she cut into the home box, she beat two defenders before shooting across the keeper only to see her shot hit the post and come out, thankfully top striker Taggart was on hand to blast the ball in from a tight angle and score her tenth goal of the campaign.
The Bookpeople Player of Match went to Fiona Martin who gave a dominant display at the heart of the defence.
