Four-midable Dromore U13s ease past Moira

Dromore U13s saw off Moira 4-1 in the Cup on Saturday.

Karl Teggart nearly scored within 10 seconds but the chip flew over the keeper and bounced just over the bar. Soon after came a shot from Euan Sellwood over the bar.

here was another shot just off target by Morgan Houston before the first goal finally game from great work by Adam Jennings down the left with a great cross, Euan got to the near post, the ball deflected off his knee, came off the defender’s foot and went in.

Dromore started to turn on the style with great play as their goal seemed to give them more confidence.

Philip Johnston and Morgan were working hard in midfield. There was good passing between Matthew Briggs and Matthew Magill down the right.

Jason played well in a new position at centre back. Nathan was very composed at left back, Joel produced an amazing display of total confidence at the back.

The next goal came from a throw in on the right .Euan flicked the ball on to Karl who finished well with a great strike.

There were some attacks by Moira, but the long ball over the top just ran through to Josh Jennings. Josh had to be alert three times and made strong saves and stops.

The third goal came from great persistence from Magill who nipped in front of the opposition and kneed the ball over the defence, where Karl met the ball, twisted and flicked it with the outside of his foot over the keeper and into the top right of the goal.

The second half produced a quick goal with Jack coming on for Euan. Karl back flicked the ball to Briggs who made a strong run and crossed it from the right to Jack at the far post where he buried the ball.

With the game in the bag, quite a few substitutions were made and Dromore nearly held firm to the final whistle, but just before the end, a corner from Moira flew into the net on the wind with no-one anywhere near it.

The coaches were please with the accurate passing this week and the good team performance.
