Former Glenavon, Ballymena United and Glentoran winger Neal Gawley has signed for the club, having played for Ballymena United as recently as last season.

Gawley is new boss Lee Feeney’s first signing for the Cheney Park club and marks a huge signal of intent from the local Intermediate A side.

The 30 year old was a team-mate of the Rangers manager at Glenavon over 10 years ago.

Having also played for Lisburn Distillery and Dungannon, Gawley is renowned for his backflip celebration that Gers fans will be hoping to see plenty of next season.

“Im delighted that Neal has come on board at Banbridge Rangers and welcome him to the club,” Feeney told the club’s Facebook page. “He has years of experience in the Irish League and has scored goals wherever he has been whether it is at Glentoran, Dungannon or even at Ballymena where he scored several stunning goals.

“There are some very talented players at Banbridge Rangers and I have no doubt that Neal will fit right in having known him for over ten years. The squad already assembled at Banbridge Rangers was a big draw to the job and I will hoping to add a few more quality players to help take us to the next level.

“Hopefully the supporters from Banbridge will see us pushing forward and get right behind the team this season from the first whistle.”
