Last Wednesday, Dromore took on Lisdrum away at Meigh and went down by a narrow 2-1 scoreline.

It was a lovely evening and there was a lot to play for because the boys knew if they won the match, they were favourites to win the league.

The game had a very cagey start with each team trying to get on top. Dromore goalkeeperJosh was tested quite a few times in the early encounters, but he was finally beaten from long range, from a fierce shot from their number eight.

Defenders Nathan, Joel, Jason, Briggs , replaced by Bailey and then Ben, stuck well to their task. Magill and Adam started to cause problems down the wings as Dromore began to push forward.

The second half started really well and Dromore certainly had 80% of possession as they dominated the play.

Dromore started to play the ball on the ground and Euan worked well with Philip, Morgan and Magill to create a number of chances.

Good pressure created four corners in a row all taken by Adam. Although the corners were well taken, no chances were put away. Josh then pulled off a great double left handed save, the best of the match to keep Dromore in it.

Jack came on in the second half and played well at right back.

Dromore’s goal finally came with a nice passing move by Philip, finished off by Karl. Dromore continued to pile on the pressure and when Adam was brought down, Karl hit the free kick against the bar.

Then Dromore had a few scrambles in the Box, Joel shot wide and Magill just missed too.

Unfortunately for the plucky Dromore side, Lisdrum scored with three minutes left and there was no time to reply.

John and Dave were very pleased with the way the boys played and how close they came to getting the win.

The lads also showed great character to bounce back days later with their big Cup win.
