Dromore came into this game on the back of a string of defeats and were looking to get their season back on track.

From the off they looked a different team with hunger and desire to win, using the wings with S.Curran and K.McGuigan to put pressure on Newtownabbey and also feed W.Beggs and C.Lockhart upfront.

It was only a matter of time before before Dromore took the lead and on 25 minutes a floating free kick from D.Smylie was headed in by W.Beggs to put Dromore one up.

This gave Dromore confidence and they went two up with a well worked goal when some good passing in midfield sent S.Curran off down the right wing and fire a cross in to the back post for C.Lockhart to send the ball back into the right corner for another fine headed goal.

Dromore most have had a least 15 corners in the first half and they finally made 4th Newtownabbey pay when C.Lockhart’s header rattled the back of the net to put Dromore three up.

Dromore came out in the second half looking more of the same, but 4th Newtownabbey were not going to make it as easy and within 15 minutes had a goal back when a few mistakes left a tap in to make it 3-1.

This gave Dromore the push they needed and the determination to finish this game off and another floating free kick from D.Smylie was put onto the head of W.Beggs for his second goal and finish off any thoughts 4th Newtownabbey had of getting back into the game.

Dromore could have added to their tally but for some fine goalkeeping and last ditch tackling keeping the score at 4-1.

Overall the management of Walsh and Halliday were more than pleased with the way the players had went about winning this game with four headed goals from their strikers and three from set pieces.
