The Banbridge Fred Daly team travelled to County Cavan Golf Club last Sunday for the first leg of their second round match in the Fred Daly Plate.
As you are well aware, Sunday was an horrendous day with non-stop rain, torrential at times. It was no day for golf but the match still went ahead.
Mark Crory was the stand-in manager of the Banbridge team and he was full of praise for all the boys.
Scott Nelson lost by one hole. Callum Barnes lost 6 & 5. Josh Crory won 3 and 1. Rory McMullan lost 6 & 5. Luke Crory won 2 and 1. Gary McConville won 3 & 2. Patrick McNiff lost 4 & 3. The result of the first leg was County Cavan 4 Banbridge 3.
This was a wonderful result for Banbridge and they must start as favourites going into the second leg at home next Sunday.
