Dromore U12s clinch the High Schools’ Shield

Dromore HS won the Ulster Carpets U12 High Schools’ Shield after beating Lurgan JHS in the final.

Twelve schools came through six qualifying competitions held throughout the Province to take part in grand finals at Lurgan RFC.

Markethill HS, Dromore HS, Clounagh JHS and Lurgan JHS competed the in semi finals with Lurgan and Dromore advancing to the final. Dromore had a little more structure and experience and this eventually proved to be the telling factor as they came away with a comfortable result.

Ulster Rugby star Louis Ludik was on hand to present the Shield and medals to the winners. Special thanks go to the referees, ambulance staff and Lurgan RFC in making it an enjoyable day.

There were notable performances from Saintfield HS, Magherafelt HS, Markethill HS and Our Lady and St. Pat’s.
