Joe is back with a bang, Clifford keeps it cool and John jumps to the top

Joe McGivern hit the headlines last season when he won the Saturday competition on the 12th of July and then went out the following day and won the Sunday Sweep.

He is back on the course after a winter break and he has his sights set on winning big. That is a distinct possibility if this result is anything to go by.

Brendon Berry went off with a smile on his face too as he learnt that he had the only two on the day. He was richly rewarded with the entire pot.

1st- Joe McGivern (16) Nett 30

2nd- John Poots (16) Nett 30

3rd- Kenny Jones (18) Nett 31

Clifford Thompson is a keen supporter of the Monday and Thursday Sweeps so, any success he has, he deserves it.

This win was Clifford’s third this year. The only player with more sweep wins this year than Clifford is John Poots with four. There is a lot of pride at stake between these two great Dromore golfers and the battle is on for most wins over the course of the season.

1st- Clifford Thompson (17) 33 pts

2nd- Colin McKinney (14) 33 pts

The Thursday Opens have started but there is also a 14 holes sweep off the green blocks for those who do not have the time or inclination to play the full 18 hole course.

That idea appealed to John Molloy as he played a delightful game of golf and took first place with 34 points.

Dennis Lockhart and Paul Wylie shared the twos pot.

1st- John Molloy (22) 34 pts

2nd- Roy Rankin (15) 33 pts
