Michael Conlan got his Olympic Games campaign up and running in Rio on Sunday.

It was a solid performance from Conlan as he secured a unanimous win over Armenia’s Aram Avagyan.

Conlan clinched a dominant 30-27, 30-27, 29-28 victory over Avagyan.

The Belfast fighter and Katie Taylor are the only members of the e Ireland boxing team still in with a chance of winning a medal at the Games.

Ireland team mates Brendan Irvine and Steven Donnelly exited the Games on Saturday.
