It was another busy week of Sweep competition at Banbridge Golf Club.

Cecil Johnston has not played very much competitive golf this year and everyone was delighted to see him return to the winners’ enclosure.

He has lost little or none of his natural skills as he played the nine holes in only one over par. Seamus Rooney picked up a sizeable twos pot.

1st- Cecil Johnston (11) Nett 31.5.

2nd- Roy McAfee (12) Nett 32.

3rd- B.J. McAnarney (24) Nett 32.

“Slammin’ Sam” Wilkinson won the Monday 14 hole sweep for the second week in succession.

Sam is enjoying a rich vein of form and scored 35 points. Long may it last.

This 14 holes sweep proved to be one of the most lucrative wins ever for Philip Strong.

He took first prize but he also chipped into the hole for the only two on the day. He won the biggest twos pot of the season to date. It must have been running for weeks. Your timing was perfect, Philip!

1st- Philip Strong (23) 33 pts

2nd- Dennis Lockhart (14) 30 pts

3rd- Kenny Arlow (12) 29 pts
