Dunbarton BC are represented in four semi-finals at the conclusion of the NIPGL Championships this week.
There is even a possibility of an all Dunbarton final come Saturday afternoon in the NIPGL Triples.
Last night (Monday), David Copeland, Conor McCartan and DJ Wilson were due to play the semi final fixture of their triples game against Larne’s Darren Witherspoon, Simon Bell and Alan McLean.
The Dunbarton trio will be well used to this stage having been successful in winning this title in 2013.
On Tuesday evening, in the second semi of the triples, Kieran Trainor, James Kelly and Sean Trainor will play Ballymena’s David Duncan, Mark Torrington and Andi Duncan.
In the Youth Singles (Under 18s), Oran Breen will be involved in his game against Jordan Millar of Old Bleach, also on Tuesday evening.
On Wednesday evening, Sean and Martin Trainor will play the semi final of their pairs against young Mossley duo Adam McKeown and Ryan Bell.
All semi finals and finals will be played at Forth River Bowling Club in Belfast.
Semi-final games start at 5.30pm. Finals Day will be on Saturday 6th August with times to be confirmed.
What a weekend it turned out to be for young Dunbarton bowler Jack Moffett across the 16th July.
Firstly he was involved in two finals of the prestigious Bangor Open Tournament on Friday. Although losing out in the triples final, he was part of the winning rink in the afternoon that contained Andy, Catherine Beattie, Jack and his father Paul Moffett.
Jack was also named North Down Borough Council Young Bowler of the Tournament.
He wasn’t finished there as he went on the be part of the NIPGL U25 side in the Junior Inter-Association. His rink finished with three wins from three and so that rink has been selected to represent Ireland at the U25 Internationals in Scotland in September.
