Banbridge Ladies are officially unbeatable.
They finished off their Senior One campaign this week, ending the season with a record of 18 games played, 16 victories and two draws.
Last Wednesday, they beat Ballymena 1-0 thanks to a goal from Amy Atkinson, set up by top scorer Rachel Kerr.
And they just about survived unbeaten in a 1-1 draw away to Rainey on Saturday, Jenny Grimes opening the scoring before Rainey equalised.
“Going unbeaten is something that will always stick with us,” said Kerr.
“There aren’t too many teams in any sport at any level that do it over a season. It takes a level of consistency but that only comes from all the hard work we put in over the course of the season. Every member of the squad played their part in it and we all deserve this reward for the effort put in.
“Saturday’s was a real 50:50 match and a strange one because it was on an indoor pitch. I think we were all glad just to get away unbeaten and finish off what has been a great season on another positive note.”
