The score is 5-2 in the B&D

BANBRIDGE are always one of the fancied teams in the Belfast and District Cup and this year is no exception.

Their team captain is the experienced Paul Magee and he selected a very strong team to play against Donaghadee in the home leg of their second round match last week.

Banbridge beat Donaghadee last year but lost to them the year before. The matches between these two teams are always very close.

This time around, Jim Carville, Rory Madeley, Jonathan Ward, Rory Leonard and Connor Doran all won their games.

Colin Wilton and Luke Woods both lost.

So Banbridge take a 5-2 lead to Donaghadee this coming Thursday. They need two and a half points for victory. It sounds easy but it could prove tricky enough. We all expect Paul Magee’s men to triumph. Let’s hope we’re right.
