The Twelfth in Rathfriland

THE eight District Lodges of the South West Down Area Conference came together in wall-to-wall sunshine at Rathfriland lsst week to celebrate the glorious Twelfth, hosted by Rathfriland District LOL No 3.

District Lodges gathered were No 1 - Lower Iveagh, No 3 - Rathfriland, No 7 - Banbridge, No 8 - Lower Iveagh West, No 9 - Newry, No 10 - Loughbrickland, No 13 - Gilford and No 20 - Bann Valley.

Wor. Bro. William Jackson (Worshipful District Master, Rathfriland District LOL No 3) welcomed the brethren during a short service conducted by Bro. the Rev Victor Neill (District Chaplain, Lower Iveagh District LOL No 1).

Addressing the assembled crowd, Bro. Pastor Roy Graham (Deputy Grand Chaplain, County Down) spoke of One book (The Bible); One God (the creator of heaven and earth); One Saviour (The mediator between God and man); and One way (Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved). Aughnaskeagh Silver Band led the praise that included ‘Crown Him with many crowns, the Lamb upon the throne’.

Resolutions proposed by Bro. Sam Walker (Deputy Grand Master, County Down) were seconded by Richard Fleming (Grand Secretary, County Down).

A vote of thanks proposed by Bro Alan Hudson (WDM Lower Iveagh West District LOL No 8 was seconded by Michael McCullough (WDM Newry District LOL No 9).
