Carnew Rural Society to launch history and nostalgia book

Carnew Rural Society has produced a book on the history of the area.

The book entitled ‘A brief history and memories of Carnew and district’, contains a collection of memories from local people as well as photos.

It will be officially launched on Wednesday September 3 at Carnew Orange Hall. The event starts at 7.30pm and will run until 9.30pm.

Over the past year the group has been gathering information and memories from people of times gone by. The book has a selection of pictures of Carnew Primary School from 1925, Carnew LOL 982, Carnew Accordion Band and many other interesting subjects.

The society has included interesting facts about the Carnew area that it is sure will be of great interest to those involved in local history and also those who have an association currently or in the past witht eh Carnew area.
