Dromore Community Garden situated just off the Square in Dromore town centre, is the place to plant yourself on Friday March 10 for an exhilarating free outdoor drop-in workshop hosted by The Conservation Volunteers.

Adults and children are encouraged to come along from 11am – 1pm and join in a fun and friendly ‘spring clean-up’ of the garden area followed by an opportunity for everyone to have a go at planting some bright new spring plants and flowers helping to create a vibrant and welcoming public space for all the community to, meet, chat and relax in the heart of Dromore town centre.

And while you are there this is the ideal opportunity to get some expert advice on how to turn your own garden into a beautiful blaze of floral beauty.

Booking is not required for this free event and all materials are supplied, just pop along and get planting.

The following day, Saturday March 11, The Conservation Volunteers will be hosting a Window Box making workshop for adults from 10am – 12noon in Dromore Town Hall. Once you have constructed your wonderful window box you will be shown how to seed it with a crop of fresh new spring salad vegetables so that in the weeks to come you can have you own luscious lunch fillings right at your very own green fingertips. The workshop is £5 per adult with all materials provided. Booking is essential and only 12 places are available.

Young gardeners are also in for a creative treat on Saturday 11 March when children aged 7+ can go potty in Dromore Town Hall from 1pm – 3pm painting their very own funky flower pot.

The Conservation Volunteers will then introduce the children to the life-long skills of how to plant up their personalised pots with an array of spring flowers for them to take home and watch grow and blossom in the weeks to come.

The workshop is £5 per child and all materials are provided (each child must be accompanied by an adult).

Booking is essential with only 12 child places available.
