History made at Lisburn with first tie in the Law Trophy
Wednesday Stableford: 1st Paul Smyth 43 pts, 2nd Stefan Szymura 42 pts, 3rd Andrew Parr 41 pts.
It was a bad weekend for Lisburn teams.
The Barton Shield team lost to Whitehead at a tie hole at Massereene.

Hide AdThe Jimmy Bruen team went out to Portstewart 3 – 2 at Moyola Park.
In front of a big crowd of spectators Lisburn got off to a good start with Brian Houston and Lewis Patmore winning by 3 and 2.
Chris Budd and Joe Gatt were level par when they won on the 12th green.
After a good start David Armstrong and Mark McNellis went down by 4 and 3. Trevor Hewitt and Glenn Waring were well beaten to leave the score 2 – 2.

Hide AdThe outcome depended on the match involving Alistair Symington and David McAllister. The match was level on the 16th green. Portstewart holed from 12 feet and Lisburn missed to go behind. Portstewart were lucky to keep out of the water at the island green 17th. Lisburn were bunkered and lost the hole and the match.
Glen Walsh praised his players for their effort and thanked Portstewart for the excellent spirit in which the game was played.
