Villa Swifts trio lift Ivor Glenn Cup
Having won the cup two years running Bushmills players Jimmy Elliott and MervynGreer who this year were playing with Christopher Greer looked the team to beat in this change of format, where all three players would throw in a best of three 1001 game.
As always there was plenty of competition with 21 teams entering and the Bushmills men were unable to make it a hat-trick of wins eventually going out in the quarter-finals to Nigel McVey, Andrew Allen and Stephen Collins who were then beated in the semis by Villa Swifts trio of Davy Glenn, Gerald Dallas and William McKendry.

The final proved a step to far for Sperrin team. Despite throwing well they could not match the scoring power of Villa Swifts and especially Gerald Dallas who was on sensational form hitting two 180s in both the semi-final and the final as well as several more maximums throughout the night.
In the end the Villa Swifts won 2-0 to lift the cup.
The League, Bertha’s and the Glenn family would like to thank all those who supported the event. Around £300 was raised which, as always, will be donated to a charity chosen by the family Ivor Glenn.
