At the announcement of Team NI, hosted at Theatre at the Mill  Newtownabbey, for the XXI Commonwealth  Games Gold Coast, Australia were, Dame Mary Peters, Patron of Northern Ireland Commonwealth Games Council, Cllr Paul Hamill Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council and representatives including athletes and coaches from Team NI.
